- A statement of purpose describing in 500 words or less: why you chose to major in sociology or corrections, how your past and present activities and future plans reflect the Mission Statements of the Sociology and Corrections programs (available on department website), what you plan to do after graduation and your career goals.

- A copy of their resume or Curriculum Vita, including: education, related work experience (type of work, dates, employers), related volunteer work (type of work, dates, organizations), awards, scholarships or grants, and professional conference participation or presentations.
