Rein in Sarcoma Jan Maudlin Scholarship
Applicants must:
- Be current Advanced Practice nursing students
- Have an above average academic record
- Have an interest in oncology
- Have an interest in educating other students and the community
- Have a commitment to service
Recipients will have the following opportunities:
- Volunteer/attend Rein In Sarcoma awareness events, including thier annual “Party in the Park” and other events, as able
- Educational boot camp modules on sarcoma diagnosis and treatment
- Meet with a sarcoma survivor facilitated by Rein in Sarcoma
- Sarcoma related education/research project (in partnership with University mentor or Rein In Sarcoma) to educate and raise awareness about sarcoma cancers in the medical community and general public
- Quarterly scholar meetings
- Educational sessions for peers focusing on the evaluation and treatment of musculoskeletal tumors by a sarcoma expert and a survivor
