Gladys B. Olson International Student Endowment

Applicant Eligibility Criteria:
1. Previous recipients of the Endowment Scholarship are not eligible to apply.
2. Students enrolled in non-credit thesis and non-credit practical training are not eligible to apply.
3. Undergraduate applicants must have successfully completed a minimum of two semesters at MSU and have at least two semesters remaining before graduation.
4. Graduate and transfer applicants must have completed at least one semester at MSU, plus one semester at another U.S. institution (if a transfer student) and have at least two semesters remaining before graduation.
5. Applicants must be currently enrolled as full-time students and be in good academic and student conduct standing.
6. Applicants must have a valid immigration status and possess an F or J student visa.
7. Applicants must have an MSU G.P.A. of 3.20 or better.

2. Complete the Gladys B. Olson International Student Endowment application
3. Provide 2 completed reference questionnaires in Scholarship Finder

Details about submitting References:
You will need to provide two references as part of the application process.Preferred references include professors and academic advisors. However, supervisors who are familiar with your work are also acceptable. Staff from the Kearney Center for International Student Services are not eligible references.

Before you apply you should carefully consider who you think could serve as a strong reference for you. You should contact your references and ask for their permission before selecting them as your reference. Understand and respect the fact that some people may say “no,” so consider alternative options.

When you enter your references’ emails in the application, your references will be emailed with a link to complete the reference questionnaire. You are recommended to contact the references after the questionnaire has been sent to confirm they have received it. Sometimes the email can be sent to the spam/ junk box, so make sure they check that if they do not see the email in the main inbox.

Finally, you can see if your references completed the questionnaire by logging into your application and viewing the reference section.
