Speech & Debate Team Talent Grant
Incoming first-year students and first-year transfer students will be considered based on three criteria:
- Previous participation in competitive speech and/or debate activities or some similar public presentation experience (required);
- Commitment to active participation in on and off-campus events offered by the Speech & Debate Program at Minnesota State University, Mankato (required);
- Performance abilities demonstrated through a recorded video upload (preferred, not required).
In accepting the Speech & Debate Program Talent Grant, you agree to:
-Maintain a minimum 2.75 GPA (regular grade checks required)
-Register for 0-4 credits of COMM 220
-Attend all weekly program meetings and team coaching appointments (Mondays 4-5:15; 6-8 pm)
-Maintain regular individual coaching sessions as determined is appropriate by coaching staff
-Participate in at least 2 on and/or off campus competitions each semester
-Active participation in planning and hosting of on-campus events
