Russell Nelson
Russell Nelson was a Conservation Officer for the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources from 1970 – 1975, where he was able to share his passion for the outdoors, hunting, and fishing with the community. He worked at the Pierz and Garrison stations before he was killed in the line of duty on September 28, 1975 when his plane crashed as they were checking on a report of poachers. This scholarship has been created by his daughter to help promote his love for the outdoors and his love for law enforcement in future conservation officers.
