Roderick Olson

Roderick Olson is a native Minnesotan of Swedish Lutheran lineage. He attended school in Bangkok, Thailand during the Vietnam war and graduated from high school in Kabul, Afghanistan in 1972. Rod graduated with honors from Mankato State University in 1976. Rod is thankful for the wide variety of courses at Mankato State University which created a solid foundation for leadership, decision making and service in his 33 years in the snack food industry. Majoring in Public Administration where the challenge is to wisely spend the citizen’s money and minoring in Accounting where one realizes how extremely difficult it is to make enough money to pay employees, vendors, and the government; it is Rod’s desire through this scholarship fund to support Minnesota State University, Mankato students in building their academic, moral, and service foundations.
