Robert Doeden Policing Studies Equipment Fund
The Robert Doeden Policing Studies Equipment Fund honors the life of a man who believed that true success is found in service to others.
Robert Doeden graduated from Mankato State University in 1979, while he was serving as a police officer in Richfield, Minnesota.
Guided by faith, devoted to family, and steadfast in service to his community, Officer Doeden dedicated his life to making a difference. During his 23 years with the Richfield Police Department, from 1966-1989, he served with courage and compassion—always putting others before himself. Whether on patrol, speaking to students in classrooms, or leading the Police Reserves Unit and Bicycle Patrols, many across Richfield came to know him as a caring and trusted presence. Beyond his badge, he gave his time and heart to his church and neighbors, leading quietly but powerfully by example.
When Officer Doeden first started in police work, he too had to purchase his own equipment—a heavy burden for a young couple just starting out. Yet his commitment to service never wavered and he made it work because serving his community was his calling.
This Fund ensures that future generations of service-minded individuals entering the field of law enforcement can do so without that financial strain. In this enduring way, Robert Doeden continues to care for his community and the neighbors he loved.
