Mark R. Stenzel
Mark R. Stenzel, Fellow American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA,) is the founder and President of Exposure Assessment Applications, LLC a company that specializes in health exposure and risk assessments. He worked for 29 years in the chemical industry where he managed all aspects of a comprehensive industrial hygiene program focused on the protection of workers’ health. He is currently a co-investigator on the National Institute of Health/National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIH/NIEHS) GuLF STUDY working on the exposure assessment portion of the study. The GuLF STUDY (Gulf Long-term Follow-up Study) is a health study for individuals who helped with the oil spill response and clean-up, took training, signed up to work, or were sent to the Gulf to help in some way after the 2010 Deepwater Horizon disaster. He has co-authored eight industrial hygiene books, white papers or technical reports and has co-authored more than 15 peer reviewed articles in professional journals. In 2015 he was awarded the Distinguished Alumni Award for Achievement, Minnesota State University (Mankato) and in 2018 he was awarded the AIHA Donald E. Cummings Memorial Award for Outstanding Contributions to the Knowledge and Practice of the Industrial Hygiene Profession.
