Halbur Family Scholarship for Study Abroad

Applicants must:

  • Be registered full-time students in any major
  • Be enrolled in at least 3 credits of second language instruction at the student’s appropriate proficiency level and/or 3 credits of culture study (e.g. SPAN 396) during the term of immersion. (See Department of World Languages and Cultures for details)
  • Have a stay of four weeks or more in a host country
  • Demonstrate high financial need
  • Must be legally eligible to travel to country of program location

Preference may be given to a student who is pursuing licensure in a world language or who may be deemed underrepresented in the World Languages and Cultures program.

Evidence of engagement with faculty advisor and Kearney International Center for determination of applicant’s stage of application for study abroad pre-approval process for participation in a study abroad experience in a MN State Mankato-sponsored international experience (i.e. department sponsored, faculty-led, exchange 2a, 2b.
